Overton S. Anderson, (1943 – 2024)

Overton Anderson founded the firm in 1980 after an already successful career as a partner with a large Little Rock law firm. For well over three decades, he set the standard for excellence that has become the hallmark of the firm’s client-driven practice. Overton was an experienced litigator who tried well over 100 jury trials to verdict in state and federal courts throughout Arkansas before he passed in 2024.

For the last 30 years of his career, he concentrated his practice in the defense of physicians and hospitals in medical malpractice cases but also continued to defend other professionals, including architects, engineers, and attorneys in a variety of suits.

Overton was AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell—the highest rating for ethics and legal ability—and was a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. He was recognized by Best Lawyers in America for many years and was selected as Best Lawyers’ “Lawyer of the Year” in 2017 and 2021 for appellate practice and in 2016 and 2019 for insurance law. He was listed as a Mid-South Super Lawyer from 2006 through 2023 and chosen as an Arkansas Top 50 Lawyer from 2006 through 2010 and again in 2014 and 2015. In addition, he was a charter member and past president of the William R. Overton Inn of Court.
